In case you missed it (and I’m not really sure how that would be possible, unless it was by literally living under the proverbial rock…) the National Gallery of Victoria is currently showing a Melbourne exclusive, The House of Dior: Seventy Years of Haute Couture.
I visited recently and was blown away by not only the pieces featured in the exhibition (the rich colours! the stunning silhouettes! the bold tailoring!) but also by its sheer size. For those of you who visited the Viktor & Rolf: Fashion artists exhibition that was on display earlier this year, this was a Whole ‘Nother Level. Sprawled over two floors and multiple rooms, the exhibition is divided by a series of themes and features works by designers such as Christian Dior, Raf Simons and John Galliano. If you haven’t already been, I highly recommend you pay the exhibition a visit before is closes on November 7.
