Leopard print love: Styling it from day to night

It seems that while trends come and go every season, leopard print is the one constant that’s always stylish. But despite this, I’d never quite taken the plunge and brought a leopard print piece of my own before now! As long-time readers of this blog will know, I’m more into monochrome (ok, black) clothing, so leopard print always seemed a little too girly and outlandish for my tastes.

But when I spotted this bomber jacket from Marks and Spencer recently, it seemed like the perfect piece to try incorporating leopard print into my wardrobe for the first time while staying true to my own aesthetic. Despite my initial concerns, I’ve since discovered that leopard print fits seamlessly into my wardrobe! (Probably because it goes so well with black, haha). Not only that, but a leopard print bomber jacket is even better! I’m a big fan of the laid-back cool of bomber jackets, and the cut of this one is perfect as it’s a little longer than some of the more cropped ones out there, which means it can be easily worn from day to night. Here’s how I’ve been wearing it:

Look 1 – Day

In addition to my penchant for black, I’m also obsessed with my boyfriends jeans. So of course for my day look I just pair the two together and voila! I love how easy this look is to wear, but still has a small sartorial twist thanks to the statement of the leopard print.

Look 2 – Night

I wore this outfit to dinner with the husb when we celebrated Valentine’s Day recently. I loved wearing the bomber with all dark colours to let the print shine, and pairing it with my favourite red lip was a match made in sartorial heaven!

Wearing: Marks and Spencer leopard print print bomber; Dotti top; Uniqlo jeans; The Daily Edited clutch; Asos heels.

Now that this bomber is firmly entrenched in my wardrobe, I’m looking forward to introducing some new leopard print pieces to my wardrobe soon!
