In my last two posts on essential accessories, I shared my love for the pairing of black and rose gold and told you about my penchant for statement sunglasses. In this post, the third installment in the series, I focus on one of my most-worn accessories: wristwear.
When it comes to accessories of the jewellery variety, watches and bracelets are hands down my favourite – especially watches. In fact, it’s very rare that I leave the house without one; from work to brunch to a night out on the town, it’s pretty much guaranteed that I’ll be rocking a watch (and if I accidentally forget to wear one, I feel as naked and as lost as those rare occasions when I forget my phone!). Not only are watches practical, but versatile as well; by choosing the right shape and colour, they can complement any outfit and even add the finishing touch to any style.
Although I already have a healthy watch collection, there was one that I had yet to add to my collection; a simple black and rose gold timepiece that would work with my predominantly monochrome wardrobe and contrast the bold, bright lip colours I love to don. So as you can imagine, I was beyond thrilled to find this gorgeous Marc Bale piece from ThePeachBox!
Oversized and masculine but with a touch of glam thanks to the rose gold detail, my new timepiece is the perfect way to amplify a laid-back style or add a slight edge to a feminine outfit. In my weekend-wear look below, I paired it with simple black pants and an oversized denim shirt to play up the masculinity of the watch, but added a bold shoe to bring the look together and keep it from looking too simple.
I also love wearing bracelets on the same wrist as my watch – I personally prefer having wristwear accessories stacked on one hand as I think it draws more attention to them – so I paired the watch with a matte black bracelet.
