A Sunday well spent

When I was working full-time, I found Sundays bittersweet; even when I spent the day lazing about and relaxing, the imminence of Monday still sometime weighed in the back of my mind. In my recent stint as a lady of leisure, everyday was a Saturday so I no longer had that problem, but with my return to full-time work (more on that soon!) that feeling has come rushing back. Given what they say about ‘A Sunday well spent’, I decided to dedicate my most recent Sunday to a half day of content and half day of life admin. And it felt good.

I started the day with brunch at the new kid on the block, Uncommon in Windsor, with my husband and sister/brother-in-law. Despite the somewhat hefty wait for a table (I’d say it was well over 30 minutes, but that’s pretty standard in that area), I still enjoyed it. The inside rocks a minimalist-industrial look with plenty of hanging plants, so naturally I was in heaven.

I ordered the vanilla bean matcha late with honey (which was quite bitter, but quite excellent after the addition of some brown sugar), and the banana and golden flaxseed pancakes which managed to taste sweet and healthy at the same time.

After a post-brunch walk through some of our favourite graffiti-littered laneways and some obligatory outfit shots, I finished up the day organising my clothes and food for the week, before vegging out on the couch and catching up on some TV shows. Bliss!
